Evil, evil email Trojan horse

I just received what might be one of the most vile and evil bits of virus mail I’ve ever seen.

Klez.E is the most common world-wide spreading worm.It’s very dangerous by corrupting your files.

Because of its very smart stealth and anti-anti-virus technic,most common AV software can’t detect or clean it.

We developed this free immunity tool to defeat the malicious virus. You only need to run this tool once,and then Klez will never come into your PC.

NOTE: Because this tool acts as a fake Klez to fool the real worm,some AV monitor maybe cry when you run it. If so,Ignore the warning,and select ‘continue’.

Its very obvious, from both the grammatical errors and the “API.scr” file attached to the mail, that this is another attempt to infect machines by social engineering. Unfortunately, it’s likely to work. The instructions to ignore your anti-virus software when it complains are clever in a sick sort of way. The mail also spoofs the address of someone I’ve received real mail from in the past.

The sad part is that there is still no shortage of people who wouldn’t hesitate to run the attachment. When are people going to learn not to open mail attachments?
