Congratulations! You’ve become an unwitting beta tester for Brad Choate’s MT-Textile 2 formatting plugin for Movable Type. I’m using MT-Textile 2 as a lazy formatter for all my blog entries right now, so if you see any really odd formatting (odder than usual, that is), I’d love to hear about it so I can toss Brad a bug report or two.
So far, though, it looks like a solid hunk of code, despite the fact that Brad hasn’t posted any updates to the beta since July. Combined with the SmartyPants curly-quote plugin, my blog is a lean, mean ease-of-formatting machine. It’s the kind of thing that makes the typography nerd in me smile, without actually being of much benefit at all to you, the reader. Then again, it prevents me from whining about how time-consuming it is to insert HTML entities every time I want a simple curly quote. No more typing ’ to get a curvy apostrophe, not when a simple straight apostrophe will do it.
