I swear that if I should ever meet the reprobate who wrote the Sobig.F virus, I will force-feed the sonofadogofapigofarat a printout of every autoresponse virus alert that’s choked my inbox over the last two days. Sobig spoofs its From header with an actual email address, and apparently, I’ve been selected as this week’s lucky winner. In 48 hours, I’ve received nearly 200 automated messages from simpleton virus checking software that can’t tell that I wasn’t the one who sent the infected mail. I’m right put out at the moment.
I’m also not the only one getting hit by this evil piece of wretched, bandwidth-wasting code. Strangely enough, I haven’t received a single message sent directly by the virus, but the autoresponses from the spoofed return address have still been enough to upend a bathtub of unwanted bits into my inbox.
