Serious technolust time. Dynamism.com, an importer of Japanese laptops and gadgets, is selling mice designed by anime and manga artist Masamune Shirow. I’m a huge fan of his work (Appleseed, Ghost in the Shell), and the mice look like something straight from his designer future.
My only concern is that they’re “only” three-button optical wheel mice. I’ve become pretty attached to the fourth and fifth buttons on my IntelliMouse Optical, primarily for Web navigation. However, I’ve been using the extra buttons much less since picking up Mozilla Firebird and installing the All-in-One Gestures extension. I’m now flipping through my browser history with short right-click-and-drag motions to the left or right, and I’m only using the extra mice buttons to get around Explorer windows in XP.
It might be time for a newer, cooler mouse.
