The best part about finding cool things on the Web is that they often link to even cooler things on the Web. My mom sent me the link to the Seattle Waterfront page in my blog’s last entry, and after backtracking the link to its source, I’ve discovered reams of really cool stuff on its hosting site, Kokogiak. Alan Taylor, the site’s author, is a Seattle resident like myself, and his prolific site contains lots of goodies:
Amazon Light, a site that takes the XML feed from Amazon.com and wraps it in a less-cluttered and more useful interface.Preserving the French Republican Calendar, a historical reference about France’s bold and poetic attempt at calendar reform.
Luciferous Logolepsy, a collection of over 9000 obscure English words.
MegaFauna, a list of remarkable prehistoric animals.
300 Miles High, a series of beautiful high-altitude photos of Earth.
Alan’s also got a weblog called Eintagsfliegen, which is also worth a read.
